Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop!

My blog is so new, this is the first chance I've had to play in Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop.

This month's theme is Springtime.  While there are so many things in Spring that are exciting like fresh flowers, warmer weather, new leaves and new life all around, I have fond memories of splashing through rain puddles with brand new rain boots! Have you noticed the rain boots are starting to hit the stores? Do you remember the smell of a new raincoat and boots from when you were a kid? And they come in such fun colors nowadays! The goal was to be as noisy and make as large a splash as possible.

The first card uses softer springtime colors of light pink, light green and blue with kraft cardstock in the background.

The next two cards are variations on a simple layout that could work really in almost any color combination paired up with matching ribbon!  I used a cuttlebug embossed edge die with a circle pattern to mimic the polka dots on the boots and the background.  The pink card uses PTI's raspberry with white.  For the blue card I chose to contrast spring rain with lemon tart and I added some of the smallest polka dots from Polka Dot basics at the very top. The flowers around the sentiment have a bit of glitter on them, not sure you can see it.  The ribbon isn't an exact match, I'm still using ribbon from my stash, but I think it looks pretty close! And the boots adhere to the cardstock using a white flower-shaped eyelet.

These are all destined for Cards for a Cause hosted by Taylor (stagccva). This month's cause is the Lydia Project to support women going through cancer. Thanks so much for visiting! I had a lot of fun dreaming up my contributions to my first ever blog hop!

Stamps: Papertrey Ink Green Thumb and Polka Dot Basics
Cardstock: Kraft, PTI white, Spring rain, Raspberry Fizz, SU Pink Pirouette, DP from a $1 bin at Mike's
Ink: Spring Rain, White Kraft, Black Stazon, Lemon Tart, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Cuttlebug embossing folder, white floral eyelets, fun ricrac and ribbon (dug out of the delightful mess that is my ribbon drawer), corner rounder punch, petite scalloped circle nestability
