Teapot Tuesday with Speedy the Cat

Teapot Tuesday hostess Kelly decided to feature Speedy the Cat, or rather Faith, his owner, this week at the Teapot Tuesday Challenge. Speedy causes Faith all kinds of difficulties while she's trying to stamp so to take a break she is going to send him to a watercoloring class . . . but he's being stubborn, the story goes, and refusing to leave!
Well, Speedy is actually getting a very bad rap. Here you see he's visiting a sick friend, his friend the bird lives in that little house. And considering proportions I don't really believe Speedy is up to any mischief because the birds who live there could arm wrestle him and win any time!

I actually made this to console my middle daughter. Yesterday our cat went missing. She is an indoor cat but likes to prowl the porch and relax in the sun in the warmer weather. I didn't catch her in the act, but I believe when someone opened a door yesterday she got out and didn't come back home. Pair that up with the fact that we have seen a fox in our back yard the past week and I think she isn't going to come home. So DD is not only very sad, she is also home sick from school. So I tried to color in the cat to slightly resemble our kitty and made it in the hopes of cheering her up slightly.

This also fits the color challenge on Splitcoast today and Terri's Papertrey Peeps challenge to create a 3-D item . . . you might recognize the birdhouse as one of the early PTI templates! Thanks for looking.
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Tiny Treats, sentiment from Autumn Abundance
Ink: black stazon
Paper: white, coral, rose, blush, olive
Other: lots of punches

I love your project!

So sorry to hear about your cat. When I got home from my honeymoon and in the process of moving to my new hubby's house, my indoor cat escaped. He was gone for almost three weeks before my neighbor called us, he had been hiding from the dogs. Hopefully yours will come home very soon.

OH Peggysue... I bet this cheered her up--this is ADORABLE!! Love the flowers you put on there and the scallops on the rooftop--very cool! LOL - your story about proportions --too funny! I bet the birdy would win! I'm so sorry you lost your kitty :*(

This is adorable, you did a great job on the cute lil kittie and birdhouse. I've been looking for a birdhouse template, is this one of those downloads you purchase?
I am so very sorry about the kittie, and of course your daughter, still hoping maybe it will return. That's the hard thing about cats, I guess...although with our Corgi jumping off the deck chasing bears, I guess it's not just cats that are in danger. Hugs sweetie!

Love the little birdhouse. When I think I don't have anymore room for punches, projects like this remind me that I need to find room :)

Love your adorable little birdhouse! Hope your kitty comes home soon. Don't give up on her--she may just be scared and hiding. Sometimes you search and search and turn around and there they are. Wishing you luck! Hugs.....

Your bird house is totally adorable! And the original story that inspired it is so sweet .... but I'm so sorry about how the story turned out, when it got to your own dear kitty! Hugs to your daughter. This must be so hard for her.

Absolutly adorable! So sorry your kitty went exploring. Hoping she turns up to the surprise of everyone. And I wanted you to know, I wasn't aware you made a birdhouse when I did mine. I was just thinking spring and what I had to work with. Similar but different! You do beautiful work.
