For Grace as QFTD

I don't know why my photos insist in laying in their sides, I can't turn them, so turn your head a little when you look.
There is a new challenge on Splitcoast Stampers called Queen for the Day. Many lovely ladies I know have been selected for this so far although I just discovered it recently. I got the chance to play along this week and CASEd a creation made by Grace Nywening, one of the design team members for Stampin' Sisters in Christ and a chief designer for Our Daily Bread Designs as well. Grace often highlights beautiful bible verses as the central focus in her cards, so I have a verse and a saying respectively as the focus on mine. I made one bright, using the new Cosmo Cricket DeLovely paper, because Grace shines her light so brightly for the Lord and one more vintage as that is more her style, using Melissa Frances papers.

She stitched all around each individual square in her nine-patch card and the outside, I don't have a stamping/sewing machine yet so in the brighter card I paper pierced around the edges and in the vintage card I used a silver gel pen to create and edge and then to soften it I sponged around the edges with antique linen distress ink. Painted cream colored prima roses with a variety of blue reinkers and then sprinkled on some glitter.

Thanks for looking and if you get a chance, stop by and make a card for Grace for QFTD on SCS.

Oh Wow! I love these - they are so different from one another, despite their similarities! The first one is unbelievably elegant and serene, the second looks more homespun and happy! You deserve to be the queen for the day - they're gorgeous!

I love the cards...beautifully done. I have had the same problem with cards going on their side and I
found that you need to take the picture over again and back up a little so that the pic does not fill the so much of the frame. I think it has something to do with too many pixels. I took my pic again, reloaded it and it worked greaat. Hope this works for you.

PS you are so funny! At first I thought I had done way too much blurfing and needed a break! ;)

I love the colors on these and the flower embellies are gorgeous!

All of your posts from when I was prepping to pack and/or packing out are gorgeous...but my favorites are the black magic technique! Really, there is something magical about it!
