Abandon all taste ye who enter here . . .

Okay, maybe its not quite that bad, but the word that strikes me when I look at this card I made is . . . garish.

I think I need to lay off the gold glitter embossing powder for a while. Amazing how glitter works either for you or against you . . . I have a card in mind using these stamps in softer tones and I'll try that when I have time. The last card that I made using glitter in the post before this one turned out with a subtle shimmer which was what I wanted. (please look at that card, I like that one!) Perhaps it is the reflective DP . . . hmmmm. Anyway, I was anxious to enter a cool sketch challenge on the KL blog here. She is giving away a nice prize! And I wasn't sure I'd have time to stamp again before tomorrow, so here is my entry. Thanks for looking. You can take off your shades now.
Stamps: Crafty Secrets, Rubber Stamp Tapestry (sentiment)
Martha Stewart punch, randomly assorted and ill-begotten DP, pearls and buttons which would have been happier on another project.

From the title, I was sure it was some Gluten Free trial gone awry (which is different from a rye since we can't eat rye!). It is a nice shiny card! tee-hee!

Well since you told me not to look, I am typing with my eyes closed...he he he...
Surely, this isn't as bad as you think...somebody will love it. Maybe not me, jk!! OK, seriously, it is a nice card, and I like all the dp's and the embossing too!! Love the scalloped heart punch!!

I have to add, at first I thought this was a Bible verse for the SSIC challenge, and thought you must be looking at another book, I didn't recognize it! You gave me a giggle, friend!

:) I always have a rough time with glitter. Heehee. But can you ever go wrong with it? :)

hmm... I wonder if it would be more to your liking if only the outline of the heart were glittered? and the rest done in a soft shade of pink, allowing the roses to still show up? I don't know...

but what I do know is that you didn't ask for any input....

and I do know that I love the pearls... and the button... and the heart border punch...

blessings,

LOL you always crack me up:) I still think it's pretty, even if it is a bit on the bright, sparkly side.

It's not that bad! It is on the brighter side, but it would still brighten someone's day.

I think it looks good, maybe a gold layer under the rectangle in the back would pull it all together a little more. Stop back at KL SNS DT blog on Monday to see if you won!! :) Hugs, Kel

I love the glittery hearts... I think what it needs is a bigger sentiment.
