Stampin' Sisters in Christ Special Blogaversary Hop!!!!

Lamentations 3:25-26
"The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord."

Yayyyyyy!!!! I love birthdays! And it is time to celebrate the first blogaversary/birthday of the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog! It has hosted scripture based challenges for a whole year. So today we're hosting a special hop featuring ALL of the original and current designers.

Our Birthday Blog Hop starts at the Stampin' Sisters In Christ blog! You'll want to start there and follow along. There are many blessings along the way and chances to win prizes, so we hope you'll join us! All of the blog links will also be there on the home page in case there's a break along the way.

What is a birthday without treats? There is a $5o gift certificate worth of blog candy on the main page on Stampin' Sisters in Christ for any one of the companies that have sponsored us in the past year! Your choice! And some of our DT members are featuring surprise blog candy of their own . . . like right here. I am giving away as personal blog candy during this hop, the limited edition CHA set from Papertrey Ink--brand spankin' new--along with a little mystery bag of PTI goodies!

Now for my thoughts on that scripture:

I chose that particular scripture from Lamentations because of all things, I am impatient. Unfortunately I've passed that trait down to my children.

I hate waiting! Yet I have learned through hard lessons and multiple examples that things run so much more smoothly when I wait on the Lord. That is where I find true peace, that is where I can rest, that is where I can have assurance that because the Father loves me, whatever His plan that is what is best for my life. It might not feel like it at the time, but in an eternal sense, His program works out a lot better than mine.

And that word 'quietly' . . .let's just say I'm no stranger to whining either! Why is it better to wait quietly? Consider what happens when we don't . . . we get fretful and fussy or impatient, our blood pressure begins to rise . . .the peace and rest we can find in the Lord disappears. Also in I Kings it tells us the Lord speaks to us in a small, still voice. How will we hear His voice unless we're being quiet?

For my project I printed out that verse on the computer, choosing different fonts to help emphasize the words in that verse that popped out when I read it.

Now for the blog candy! Here's a photo of the PTI set, plus I'm including a mystery bag of PTI goodies for that same lucky winner. Leave a comment here on my blog answering this question . . . which single word in my selected verse resonates with you and why? Is it the word 'hope,' 'seeks,' 'soul' . . . you get to pick!

I look forward to reading your thoughts! For the next stop on the hop, you will visit Miesje's blog here. Again if you get lost during the hop, check the main blog page for Stampin' Sisters in Christ! The hop will officially conclude on Wednesday August 18th at 11:59 pm Pacific, and the prize winner(s) will be announced on Thursday. Have fun!

Gorgeous, I just love the colour scheme and I adore those stamps in the background.

Hello Peggysue - this is just fabulous and showcases the scripture so beautifully!! Hope and wait - they sound so easy - seek - yes that is a verb...something we need to be doing on a daily basis! Thank you for sharing your art and your heart Peggysue - thank you too for all of your hard work organising this FUN celebration - you are such a blessing to so many! {{{{hugs}}}

Aimes said...

Hey Peggysue! I love your card - the colours look great and your verse really takes the centre stage!
Now as for a word from the verse that resonates with me, I think I would have to pick 'Hope'. I'm an optimistic person and always looking for the good in what seems like a bad situation; I think it releases postivie vibes and is good for you! Though I'm no patient gal either so maybe I should focus on the word 'wait' too LOL!
Hugs,

Peggysue,

I have been following your blog for some time now and I always look forward to you Sunday post.

I have to choose the word "hope". Hope is what keeps us going. Without it, it would be so easy just to give up when life is not going the way we planned. We need to put our hope and faith in the Lord because He knows us better than anyone.

Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Hi Peggysue! Love your card and love your verse! It's packed full of important words... I too am impatient and waiting is hard... but that "seek" word in there implies if we're waiting for the Lord it's not just a sit around do nothing kind of wait.... it's an active seeking Him on our part! So much meat in one tiny verse! Thanks for sharing it!!!

beautiful! Your design rocks!

What a lovely serene card, perfect for the scripture! The word that resonates most with me is soul. I think of the soul as the diviness that resides in each of us. I try to remember that diviness resides in each person. Also, we must learn to trust our feelings, our soul, our diviness, and we will do what is right. Unfortunately, for many reasons we often do not focus on the soul in making our decisions and choosing our actions. For me often it is that impatience that you mentioned that leads to those actions that are not the best. My husband often says,"Remember your middle name is Patience". Of course, that is not my middle name, but his not-so- subtle reminder to be patient.:)
Have a great day!

Very pretty card. The word Salvation is the word that pops out at me. What else do we need other than salvation?

Sassy's Ramblin's said...

I so love your card! Hope is my word, as this is something I can relate with, as I am always looking for God working, the good that will come, but WAIT....ugh, that is something I must say i really need to work on! Thank you for sharing a great verse!

Becky said...

The word "wait" speaks to me. Often we are impatient and want things now...and we want what WE want which is not necessarily his will. We must wait to find out what is in store for us. It is hard though.

Sue Ann said...

Before going any further then just looking at your card I sat and read the verse again. The whole verse speaks to me relating it to our current job situation. My DH has been out of work for over a year and I always get stressed but Curt tells me to wait and the right job will come and that this time has allowed him to be with the kiddies at such a fun time in their life. He has been there for his dad during such a difficult transition of learning to do things without his mom. I know that if we "wait" quietly the right path for him will come to us. "Hope"fully the "Good" will come from all of the "Quiet Waiting" When his job was eliminated we knew it was not being done in a fair manner but my Curt held his head high and never tried to get back at anyone or tell the horrible stories of how things were going down at work. He took his 12 year career and held his head high.

I would say that all the word are equally important but for today and at this moment it is "HOPE"

Your card is beautiful~~

Kara said...

I, too, struggle with patience at times. I have gotten much better at "waiting" though:)
Thanks for the chance to win this awesome set!

KATHY said...

I would say the word "quietly" resonates with me the most. I find that when I sit quietly wherever I am but especially in nature and just let the sound of the environment fill my soul with the whispers of God that I can recharge myself and find myself closer to God.

I lvoe your card, lovely!

Sonja said...

Hi Peggysue, I don't know if I can play along (overseas) but I like to comment anyway :-)
What a beautiful card!! I have to say the word Hope speaks most to me because I can't live without it. Without hope I would be empty.

Ceal said...

Great verse Peggysue and beautiful card! I would have to say the word Hope resonates with me today. Isn't it wonderful that we have Hope in the Lord! thanks for sharing!

Jessica L said...

Wonderful card! I love those colors together. I would have to say the word that sticks out to me is wait because I too have issues with impatience. It's one of the many things I am working on with His help.

Becky said...

Peggysue this is beautiful.. It is so true that we do not like to wait, but always remembering what happened to Saul because he would not wait for Samuel put a little fear in me..:)

Suzanne said...

What a beautifully serene card. The word that means the most to me is "salvation.". Knowing that God has taken care of my sin is the reason why I can wait on the Lord, have hope for the future, and trust in His unfailing goodness.

The word "wait" is what stands out to me the most.

Your card is beautiful and I really like how you created the verse as well as how it is printed on such pretty and subtle paper

Helen said...

Your card is beautiful! I love the colors of it! It is so hard to be patient, isn't it? God has so many blessings for us, we just have to wait for the right timing and sometimes that frustrates me as well! Thank you for sharing this encouraging verse today!

Kristine said...

Beautiful card Peggysue, and wonderful words to share with us too. I'm the same way--impatient! It's a great verse to memorize. What a sweet giveaway... Happy Birthday SSIC!! *Ü*

Thanks for your sharing - it's so true cos often we are so impatient in so many ways. Yet God cannot be hurried...we have to learn to wait upon Him and trust in Him. Love your card - the colours and design. Have a great day!

I'm not sure I can pick one word. I think "Hope" is probably the most powerful one, but I think "quietly" is the one I need to work on most. Congrats on the blogaversary and thank you for the chance to win.

Cindy Coutts Designs said...

I hate waiting too and never knowing what's next, but also know God has a better plan for me -- now if he'd just hurry up!! Great message Peggysue!

Amy Kolling said...

Beautiful card! I already have this fun set so don't enter me in the drawing. :)

Becky Carafa said...

My favorite word in that verse is "wait". Reminds me that God's timing is perfect. Thanks for the chance to win!

I think you've nailed it with WAITing. We have become a world of fast food, fast everything and it has made us all more impatient! God bless and congrats on your Blogiversary! ;)

Lauren said...

What a beautiful verse! The word that spoke to me the most was "wait". I too struggle with impatience and often forget that it's when I try to do things that aren't in "God's time" that I get frustrated and disappointed. What a great reminder that all things have their season and time. Beautiful card!! And thank you for a chance to win such a FANTASTIC package!! Blessings!

Beautiful card! The color combo is great as are the stamps used.

What a beautiful card Peggysue! For me, I choose the word "hope". Why? Because it is something that I never go through any day without.

Tara said...

Congrats on your blogaversary! I think the word that resonates with me is "Good". In my work and my personal life, I try to live by the 'golden rule' - treating others the way I want to be treated. I try, though probably don't always succeed, to be a good person.

Cathy Weber said...

What a beautiful and spiritual card. I think in this time in our country the word Hope stands out to me the most. So many people are hurting being out of jobs and waiting and hoping is their only comfort. I see it here on the PTI forum all the time. Thank you so much for the chance to win that gorgeous set.

Lee said...

This was a great lesson for me today. We are experiencing a tough time at the moment and I am feeling so despondant. My SOUL is crying out to the Lord and I know I need to SEEK His guidance and keep my HOPING in Him. So all those words really spoke very strongly to me today. Thanks so much Peggysue!

MariLynn said...

Peggysue, what a great reminder. I too have such a hard time waiting.(It is good to know that I'm not alone.)So I guess the word I would choose is WAIT. It is even there 2 times to remind me. Hope you have a blessed day today!

nancy said...

Hi, Peggysue. Your comment on the PTI forum about the CHA set led me to your blog. That is very generous of you.
The word I would choose is 'good,' but it really must be joined to the words 'The Lord is' to truly resonate. To me, the Lord is good and kind and wants only the best for His sons and daughters. In this case, as long as we try to be patient, He will be glad.

Anonymous said...

Wait! That is so hard for me and right now we are having to wait on the Lord - so difficult when you want to get it done yourself. The card is beautiful

OH that scripture is something I so needed in my life right now. With all that is going in my life I need to remember that I am not in control but our Lord and so I need to just remember my faith and believe and all will be well. :) Card is beautiful indeed as well.

Kristine said...

Amazing card, and a great verse. Wait stands out to me. It is something I have to do, even though in most cases it means doing nothing, and I'm not too good with that. Maybe with some practice it gets easier, at least they say it will. Also hope catches my attention. It is so full of promise.. No need to hope, if there is no gain...

Karin said...

That scripture verse is lovely. I think I would pick salvation as the word that means the most to me. Knowing that my salvation lies in Him gives me the hope I need each day of my life. Congrats on the Blogaversary and it's so wonderful to have Christian sisters who share your love of stamping :) Have a peaceful day!

Beautiful card Peggy Sue and such a generous prize. I like your verse and I think I would pick Hope. I love everything about hope- it just keeps us going.

Eva said...

Wait is also what stands out to me in the scripture as I too am very impatient...I am a "gotta have it now" girl. And the quiet...it takes me back to "Be Still and Know that I am God". I have to work on letting God be God...waiting and letting Him take control. Easier said than done sometimes...ok most times.

Jackie Solomon said...

Hope. That is one of the most important word, what do we have without hope?

Your card is beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win that awesome set.

What a lovely card, Peggysue! All of it, of course, (nice job with the computer-generated scripture!) but my favorite is the embossed strip with the inking. The single word I choose from your verse is "wait." I often feel that I have waited longer than most for promises kept, but I am trying not to be impatient and appreciate the reminder to "wait." P.S. You have the coolest blog candy!!! ;-D

This is such a pretty card, I love the aqua and green together. I think that of all the words in the verse, 'hope' is the one that is most important to me. When things in life get difficult, hope is what helps us to get through it! Thank you for sharing this card and for sharing your generosity!

I really like your card, Peggysue. The word that most resonates with me in the scripture you picked out is "hope." It has been a hard year for my husband and I with lay offs and financial misery, and I was giving up hope that it would ever get better. But, thanks to others thoughts and prayers and thanks to God, things DID get better! My hope for the future is renewed!

Thank you for the opportunity win awesome blog candy. Very, very generous of you!

Congratulations on your anniversary! Your card is simply beautiful The word "soul" resonates with me. I have been stressed with work lately and haven't been taking the time to feed my soul. I love the "seeks" word of the verse. I think it implies a purpose, momentum, commitment to act, rather than being simply passive and doing nothing.

Beautiful card, Peggysue - the word(s) that jump out for me are Lord and Seek.

LORD because he should be pre-eminent in our lives, and that title gives Him that pre-eminence.

SEEK - it indicates to Him that we desire Him, which is a blessing to him and us.

What an awesome thing, that we bless God when we seek Him - mind blowing!!

Traci M said...

Peggysue, your verse is so beautiful and I like the way you highlighted certain words of it!!
The word,"hope" is very meaningful to me, because we know "hope does not disappoint..." when we hope in the Lord.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!!

Stephanie said...

What a beautiful card -- it gives such a calm feel and goes perfectly with waiting patiently. I too have a problem with patience. However, what really struck me was "seek." The Lord waits patiently for us to seek to spend time with Him. He doesn't force Himself on us but waits for us patiently.

Mickie said...

Such a nice card and beautiful words. I will have to say WAIT stands out for me as I am always handing things to the Lord and then scratching His hands taking them back, only causing me senseless worry whereas if I wait, He takes care of things in His own time.

I would have to say the word "hope". Without it, what is there to live for. It brightens anyone's day to have a glimmer of hope. When things get rough, which they often do, hope gets you through. And I hope I win.....:0)

What a truly beautiful card and lovely verse. To wait is truly a challenge for me. I see it bringing me unnecessary stress far too often. Something I need to continue to work on. Thanks for the inspiration.

What a gorgeous card and scripture! LOVE the way you did the fonts! ;)

My word is "hope"...something I thrive on...not only for myself and my family, but for the world...God's world! To not have hope, would be to not have faith. Totally unimaginable!

Clare said...

I too can be impatient at times! It seems like my husband and I have been trying to get our children to believe forever. We've come to the realization that maybe it's not for us to lead them to Christ, but for someone else! Our daughter, who never even wanted to "talk about all that God stuff", said she wants to go to church with us on Sunday! Praise the Lord! He does answer prayers, in His time! Your card is beautiful!

Dana said...

Great card :)

I chose the word 'impatient'... I'm so impatient sometimes that it ends up having such a negative affect on me and those closest to me. Every day I try to be more patient with others and myself.

Catherine Kraft said...

Peggysue, I love the colors you've chosen for your card and everything works together so well. I love the scripture you have chosen. I couldn't pick just one word as three were a beacon for me. Wait, seek and hope. That is what is going on in my life right now. I'm seeking, waiting and holding onto hope.

Linda Rodenberg said...

"Quietly" would be my word of choice...that is how I enjoy living my life...listening quietly to God.
Love your Blog Peggy Sue!

Theresa Tyree said...

Thank you, Peggy Sue for giving us a chance to win the CHA set. I really would love to have one.

Right now the word that resonates with me is "wait". I'm waiting on the Lord for his guidance in my life- particularly with either getting a job or going back to school to be a nurse, or just to sit at home and be a wife/mother. The last choice would be so hard for me to accept b/c I've worked all my life and doing so would require all my trust and faith exclusively on Him.

Wendy M said...

Patience is something the Lord is teaching me these past couple of years likewise... your thoughts on the matter are very encouraging and helpful... thank you for sharing xx

Stephanie said...

Hope has to be the word that resonated with me the most... Its hard to sit back and hope things will work out in this world, yet I think it is incredibly important. I am generally an optimistic person but when times are tough this can be quite challenging.

Peggysue, What a beautiful color combination and design! I love the entire verse, but the word "quietly" is the one that grabs my attention the most. I have a very difficult time sitting still and being quiet! The Lord has spoken to me many times when I finally sit, relax and wait "quietly" for His guidance!

Hi~

You made such a beautiful card! I love the colors, and the different fonts that you used in this incredible Scripture!

The word that really catches my attention is "Seek." In fact, that is what I have been writing about on my blog, too!

I know that it is our responsibility to be in His Word daily! Not just to read the words, so that we have completed our assignment, and not even rotely memorizing them. But, to seek Him out, to seek out the message for us today in His Word. To seek what He wants us to learn about Him. To ask Him to reveal new things to us, as we re-read the same Scriptures. To seek these answers from Him, Jesus the Christ.

Thank you for an opportunity to win your very generous blog candy! It is so sweet of you to do that.

He IS Able,
Traci S.
