Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 54. . . As Iron Sharpens Iron

Happy Sunday stampers! Its time for another challenge from Stampin' Sisters in Christ. This week's hostess is Lovely Linda! She selected this verse from Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." Her challenge is to use some form of metal on your card.

I found this layout in the new Stampin' Up holiday mini. I used a combination of two sets from Mark's Finest Papers, then I have two brads for the metal on the card.

I know that on our main blog Linda will have some wonderful thoughts to share and you can see the rest of the design team creations here.

You ever notice sometimes too how wisdom can 'skip a layer?' I don't have that wise layer above me, there is no older person to turn to for good counsel. And that's where wise and caring friends can make a huge difference.

I am thankful for friends who have come alongside me during a difficult time. I have had them lend encouragement, give me scripture verses and help me remember that regardless of what we're facing, God already has the victory. No one is meant to walk through this life alone and I'm very grateful for all of my friends. I'm grateful for my children too, who themselves are getting older, to the point where we can pray with and for each other as well and that is a huge blessing in my life also.

Thanks for looking, hope you can play along.

Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers Southwest Cowboy and Ferns and Chickadees
Ink: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo
Paper: cranberry, kraft, some kind of blue, cream
Other: cuttlebug vintage corner die, PTI tintypes impression plate, copper brads, copper cord, twine

This is a great layout! I love the card - I know one of my sons would like this with the horses on it. I loved what you wrote too - I am blessed to still have my parents and my in-laws living just a few miles away and in relative good health in their mid to upper 80s. Their wiser council is turned to and appreciated and cherished!

I love having older friends to turn to for wisdom, but sometimes I feel like I am always the older one...that part is not so fun. But truly, all friends are important and valuable in all stages of life. I am thankful for you, too!!
This is a really handsome card, I like that color combination and the design is simple but makes an impact!
Thanks for sharing your words with us, Peggysue! Blessings to you!
