Happy Halloween

So these two images don't seem to go together and they don't. :) My daughter wanted me to put up a photo of her with her pumpkin on my blog, so here she is with her creation. (She drew the face on paper, adults wielded the sharp carving knives!) And I was pleased to find portions of Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown online so she got to watch that for the first time last night. Neat to see all the portions that are usually cut when it is squeezed into a half hour TV timeslot with too many commercials. I like commercial free viewing!

And for the second photo, a friend asked me how a pair of socks are coming along that I am knitting for another friend to give to her SIL for Christmas. She chose the sock yarn, Lornas Laces bittersweet I think is the color. One is done except for the kitchener stitch to close up the toe and the other is coming along nicely. Hope you have a great Saturday!

What rib did you use for your cuff? Mine doesn't stand out as much as yours does. Did you use the K3, P1? Yours looks like it travels and I like that.

Your daughter is such the sweetheart - tell her she did a fabulous job creating the pumpkin's face!!

Also, I love love love the socks!! I so wish that I could knit socks - I had a friend who wanted to start a sock business for people in casts...she'd never want to make the second sock for the pair after finishing the first one and figured this would be her way around that!

Your daughter is adorable! You're a knitter, too? I love that! I've crocheted a bit, but never made anything more than a blanket and a flower. I guess true crafters will try almost any craft, and have several they like to do. Me, I'm longing to get back to quilting.
