Mark's Finest Papers 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop . . . Day Seven: Calendars//Stampin' Sisters in Christ 112

Speedy the Cat at Mark's Finest Papers likes to get a head start on special Christmas gifts and memories for friends and family. He gathered the design team at Mark's Finest Papers to bring you 12 days of exciting paper crafting gift ideas to get that holiday mojo flowing. The hop runs for 12 consecutive days, starting October 17th! Begin your holiday hop at Speedy's home base, the Mark's Finest Papers blog and relax with a cup of eggnog (or sprig of catnip, your choice) as Speedy leads you though a short, daily hop. You'll find your holiday paper crafting ideas and supplies at Mark's Finest Papers.
Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop! We have four samples each day for our hop! Please visit each of the following blogs for holiday inspiration! Start off tomorrow on the MFP Blog for more inspiration!

Please note, I have split up my calendar post into three separate blog posts because I cannot fit all the photos into one post; I'm sure there is a fancy blogging trick to be able to do so, but I am not wise as to what that might be.

I have made an easel/box calendar. The top part is like an easel card, with the base to hold the calendar pages the easel. The bottom has two drawers, each able to hold six to seven calendar 'photos,' depending on their thickness (i.e. the number of embellishments you put on them).

I printed out a mini calendar for 2012 and that is the 'stopper' for the easel portion. A helpful forum member on splitcoast provided the calendar for 2012, her name is Cat on SCS and you can find the thread with her calendar template here. I made the box/drawers and easel base in light gray, so it wouldn't detract from the monthly calendar decoration and each piece is 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 square. You simply use a clip to hold that month's picture in place, or the recipient is free to put any month up that they like, depending on their mood. I chose to go light on the sentiments and mainly highlight images. I am providing links to the sources for my calendar pages and instructions for making the box/drawer. Thanks for looking! Have a great hop! Please see the posts immediately below this one for the additional calendar pages.

Also, this week our lovely hostess at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is MariLynn who has selected this verse Ecclesiastes 3:1 "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens . . ." Her challenge is to make a card/project that shows the passing of time. A clock ( for hours) a sun (for days) a calendar for (years) etc. You can go to the home page here to view the rest of the beautiful creations by the rest of the design team and read MariLynn's devotional on this topic; she always has great thoughts to share. It isn't often I have to combine posts, but this is one case where they dovetailed nicely. Wishing you a blessed week (and year).

What a great idea to make the drawers to hold the monthly images. I can only begin to imagine how much TIME this project took. You put so much more detail into your 12 pages than I did on my 12 toppers. So I have a rough guess how long yours took. It is great how well this worked with this week's scripture. And I really wasn't thinking about this when I wrote this devotion. God had placed it on my heart and kept reaffirming it all week. I hadn't even thought to combine it with the mfp 12 days of Christmas blog hop until you mentioned it. I was working on the calendar separately but not thinking about it with the SSIC, because like you I rarely combine posts. I hope you are having a blessed week and finding lots of TIME!!
