CAS(E) a sketch and Make it Monday

Hi there! Long time no stamp! Actually I've stamped some but not posted here. There is always Instagram! :)

I saw someone post a card for the CAS(E) this sketch challenge (#255) and it looked simple enough, thought I'd play along. I also used Lizzie's technique demonstrated for Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink, shadow stamping a sentiment. You can hardly see it on my sample but I stamped the word "serenity" in gray and then a pale shade of pink, Spun Sugar actually. It looks like a pink shadow, barely there.

Had fun! No time to chat much right now, I fussed for an hour trying to get into my blog just to post and it is past time to be thinking about dinner. Thanks for looking. Have a great day!
Papertrey Ink Brushed Birds; soft stone cardstock, Alte New lace die, Spun sugar, Raspberry Fizz and a pink distress oxide ink (which one??? can't go look right now!), gray; Gathered Garden die, sequins, glitter

See? If you look real close you can see the pink by the gray on the sentiment....

Pantones Under the Sea

Always enjoy a good challenge and I found the one at Papertrey Ink intriguing for Make it Monday. I hadn't heard of the Pantone chip inspiration. You're supposed to take a single color chip and match the stamp color or decorative accents to that chip. I am fond of the color blue and fond of this whale stamp so I paired them up. I watercolored some cardstock and deliberately chose a spotty part for the whale because the whales I've been privileged to see on rare occasions have plenty of mottled color. Needed a few sequins, in my mind, for the sun reflecting off the water.

Thanks for looking. In case you come directly to this post and not the home page, I made another pantone chip inspired card using the peonies anniversary set with a pink chip, because...pink!

Stamps: Papertrey Ink Keep Swimming, Dies: PTI Keep Swimming; Paper: Neenah solar white, scrap of blue, watercolor; Inks: Ranger distress Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans, archival black; Other: sequins, wink of stella

I did find a few other challenges where this will fit, new blogs to me and some intriguing challenges and fine design team examples.

This would qualify for the following:

Deep Ocean Challenge #157: Die Cuts, Chipboards and/or Punches ... the whale is diecut
Crafty Critter Crazies...Just use a critter...my whale
Monochrome Magic ...Anything goes as long as it is monochrome

CAS Sunflowers

Two for two! Two cards in two days, I don't think I've made two cards the past two months. Keeping it cleaner and more CAS works better for my schedule I think!
I like this sunflower set, pretty much anything with sunflowers. Used a very simple layout.
Stamped with SU Barely Banana on PTI Lemon Tart cardstock and then went over some of the petals for highlighting with a Y38 copic marker. The sunflower centers are Ranger Vintage Photo stamped on kraft cardstock, leaves are SU Kiwi Kiss on a random scrap of green. Sentiment is from a set by MFP. Thanks for looking!

CAS anniversary

Needed a quick anniversary card and with the rate I'm stamping at lately (infrequent) quick is best!
Received this adorable set as a present from Crafty Mathchick and just now getting a chance to pull it out. Thank you Meredith! Love the little robots.
I thought the circular pattern on the embossing strip matched his eyes and the little strip of ricrac ribbon matches the color in the basket holding the hearts, in case that isn't clear in the photo. Used a combination of prismacolor pencils, markers and a gel pen to color in the image. Popped it up on foam dots to add a bit of interest.
The hearts are to symbolized anniversary, a marriage between two people and the rhinestone is there to hid a defect in the pink cardstock! Gotta love mistakes, they are nothing but embellishment opportunities.
Found CASual Fridays challenge blog so I offset the hearts to hang off the side of the page a bit to fit their challenge this week, I like the effect. (CFC106) Hearts were cut using PTI heart dies. Thanks for looking!

CAS Puppy

Been waiting an age to use this stamp set. Now don't look at her leg, I was using a prismacolor pencil over my markers to help define the edges a bit and of course there was some black on the peach and now it looks like she's cut herself.
Anyway, thanks for looking.
